The main causes of corrosion in steam boilers and piping systems are oxygen and carbon dioxide gases. The concentration of these gases in the water in which they are present varies depending on temperature. The higher the temperature, the more gas is released from the water. A temperature of approximately 65°C is required to remove carbon dioxide gas completely from the water, while oxygen is removed completely at 102°C. After separation, the gases are vented from the top of the deaerator dome. Accordingly, deaerators operate at temperatures of up to 105°C, while the high water temperature causes cavitation in the feedwater pump. To prevent cavitation, the deaerator system is elevated to a certain height above ground level, creating positive pressure at the pump inlet. The complete assembly includes support legs with a welded and bolted structure, statically calculated according to the weight of the required platform, as well as a ship-type ladder for accessing and operating the fittings on the deaerator tower and lower tank.
